Yeah, but that doesn't merit getting whooped with a broom handle in your sleep.
I made mochi the other day! It wasn't very complicated at all (A GRAND PLUS FOR COOKING IMPAIRED PEOPLE SUCH AS MYSELF), though it did take a long time for it to bake and cool and everything. It came out pretty nicely for my first batch, I think :D The only thing is is that the recipe made a much larger quantity of mochi than I thought it would, and it said to divide the batter into three 8 inch cake pans, but we only had one, so I was like EH I'M SURE IT'LL BE FINE and just dumped the whole thing into one pan, and it wound up not cooking all the way the first time so I had to scoop out the outsides onto a plate and bake it again, so the whole thing took like four hours. BUT OTHER THAN THAT
Mom and I also got some ice cream mochi at this neat Asian market we found, and it is the most delicious thing on Earth oh God I could eat it forever
So visiting with John was a lot of fun, even if it was short. We mostly sat around and played games and watched movies and such. Everyone played Brawl, and it was really funny watching my non-gaming family act so disturbed by everything that was happening (WHAT WHO IS THAT GUY WHAT THE HELL IS THAT WHY AM I GLOWING GOD WHAT IS GOING ON) :B I recorded quite a few hilarious fights, as well, including this one where Mom and Dad fought each other (as Link and Ganondorf, ironically) without having a lot of gaming skills or anything, so they were both just sort of flailing around. IT WAS GREAT. I wish I could show them to you guys, but I don't have a capture card or anything. I'll get one one of these days
We also got the new Mario Kart game for the Wii, which we played a lot (A LOT). It's pretty fun, though I wouldn't recommend getting the steering wheel controller, since it doesn't seem to handle very well (it was real sensitive and made it hard to keep the vehicles steady, and I kept running off of cliffs every five seconds when I used it, and I dunno). A GameCube controller or a Wiimote+nunchuck combo is where it's at.
We also played Wii Play, which was great fun. I played against John and I swear to God he was trying to make me laugh on purpose so I'd mess up adghadkfgja. THERE WERE TIMES WHERE I COULDN'T EVEN SEE THE SCREEN THROUGH MY TEARS OF LAUGHTER
Heh, it's weird, but it seems like every time we're driving John to the airport, he and I always wind up having this long discussion about video games.
You know... before I was kind of torn up because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, what I wanted to major in or anything and college is getting closer and closer, but... I'm really thinking I'm going to go into game design. It'll be scary, since this college I'm shooting for is 2,000 miles away and I have pretty much no life experience, and not to mention that it's supposed to have a VERY heavy workload and all this stuff, but... I mean, it just makes sense, since I've always been passionate about video games and I've always been driven to improve my artwork, so combining both and getting paid for it would be a great deal (and this college is supposed to be very respected, so if I tell employers that I graduated from there, then that'll put me in very high regard. According to John, anyway). Not to mention that going to a college for video games would just be cool. DID YOU KNOW THAT PORTAL WAS MADE BY A GROUP OF STUDENTS THERE HOW COOL IS THAT
I think the turning point for me was, actually, playing Final Fantasy XII. I spent at least an hour or two running all over the very first town and going into every building, talking to every person, looking at things from every angle, admiring every detail. I was completely bowled over by the amount of detail there was; you'd go into a weapon shop and the rugs on the floor, the lamps, the walls, the shelves, the weapons--every corner is completely and intricately designed, and it all, as a whole, creates a cozy atmosphere. Not to mention that every NPC--wearing their beautifully designed clothing--would be doing a different thing, like one NPC examining a sword he took off of a shelf, or another admiring the displays, or two others having a conversation with each other. All that for just one shop. I honestly could not believe that this was something that a group of people just got together and designed, that the towns in this game didn't come from decades of manufacturing and cultivation. I was honestly blown away by it.
Which reminds me, I need to finish FFXII. DERP
God, this is going to sound completely lame, but it's sort of funny how the Final Fantasy series has almost... okay fine CARRIED ME THROUGH LIFE THERE I SAID IT. FFIV motivated me to learn to read, FFXII motivated me to start aiming for a career in game design, and every other game motivated me to ~*believe*~ and help people and so forth. It's just funny to me how every FF game has inspired me in some way, from the beginning of my life to who knows how long. Maybe when I'm old I'll get to play Final Fantasy XLVII on the Playstation 14 and bob around in my rocking chair to the latest Chocobo remix. Then I'd go online and participate in the latest FFVII flamewar. |D.
But I dunno. The things people come up with are amazing to me, and I just want to be a part of that. I feel like I need to seriously improve my artwork before I try for this, though, even if that's kind of weird since the whole reason I'm going to school is to learn. That's sort of a weird quirk of mine, and I think I know where it comes from, but I don't feel like going into the whole childhood thing at this hour. ANYWAY, WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS... WISH ME LUCK, I GUESS? I hope the concept of going to college and being away from home will become less scary to me when I'm older, or at least easier to deal with. werkjakahgak
AND SPEAKING OF THINGS AND STUFF, I AM 99% SURE THAT I AM GOING TO ANIME EXPO :D IF YOU'RE GOING THEN JUST LOOK FOR SOME FREAK IN AN OTACON COSTUME I GUESS. WATCH ME STAMMER AND SQUIRM AS I WRESTLE WITH THE CONCEPT OF SOCIAL INTERACTION
this entry has no point lol. SCREENSHOTS IN THE NEXT ENTRY... PERHAPS

Games (and every other hobby I have lmao, but games in particular are standing out) have always been a huge part of my life, and goddamn I learned much more from them than I did school.
SO I TOTES SUPPORT YOU AND YOUR DECISION. Applying sounds kinda scary, but I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! ♥
(This would've been longer rambling, but I'm just so psyched over this entry that I can't put my thoughts into organized sentences. XD;;;)

MAN, SAME HERE. They got me through so many hard times and helped me make connections with so many people (pretty much all of my friends are gamers), and have really shaped me as a person, and God, so many things. I HAVE NO IDEA WHO I'D BE IF I DIDN'T LIKE GAMES
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT 8D I'M GOING TO TRY AND MAKE THE TRANSITION AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE AND NOT FREAK OUT TOO MUCH. On the bright side, I'll probably only be there for a few years until I graduate, and then I could maybe move closer to home since there's a few Microsoft buildings around my part of the country. And my brother will be there, too, so :D.

Also, while I think of it, what exactly is that thing Otacon wears? Is it a hoodie or a labcoat? I look so much like Otacon it's scary, so I'd just need that white-whatever to cosplay as him. 8D

I'LL GO AT IT 54%! I'LL TRY NOT TO MESS UP TOO BADLY!
He wears a hoodie in MGS1, a regular labcoat in MGS2, and I think he just wears a beige trenchcoat thing in MGS4. It might be a labcoat, but it doesn't really look like one. I DUNNO LOL.
Haha, I sort of resemble him, too, it's weird 8D A YOUNG, GIRLY-LOOKING, CLEAN-SHAVEN VERSION ANYWAY
