backupdump002Soooooo, I beat Apollo Justice last night! Or I guess two nights ago, considering the time. It was pretty much awesome, really. I couldn't stop playing it once I started and just got really into the whole thing. 8D And for the record, I love Apollo, and I think that the people who are refusing to play the game because omg apollo isn't phoenix omg omg are being really dumb. WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE JUST LOVE APOLLO FOR WHO HE IS

Anyway, but yeah, I loved it. I have a lot of fanart I wanna draw for it, too, so I hope you guys are prepared forKLAVIER that. And by the way,
-I like Hobo a lot, even if it is kind of heartbreaking to see him in the situation he's in. What, with the pretending to play the piano and cheating at poker to make ends meet. SURELY YOU CAN GET A JOB AT A FAST FOOD PLACE, HOBO, COME ON
-The new "Percieving" thing is so hilarious to me for some reason. KIND OF INTERESTING AND MORE REALISTIC THAN THE MAGATAMA (at least in the "detecting peoples' nervous habits" aspect, not the HUH WHUH MY BRACELET IS REACTING!!! I CAN SEE NOTHING EXCEPT THIS PERSON'S FACE OMG part), BUT STILL HILARIOUS
Also, new "Gotcha" voice clip. Apollo sounds so ridiculous when he says that. Just screams GAWTCHUH at the top of his lungs
-FIRST A CANESWORD IN THE THIRD GAME, NOW A BROOMSWORD IN THE 4TH. If Klavier winds up having a guitarsword then I am out of here
-I didn't have much of an opinion of Ema in PW1, and she did annoy me at first in this game (wahh wahh no i wont help you i'm in a bad mood wahh snackoos), but she kinda grew on me 8D I was mainly happy to have her back because I missed doing all those forensic experiments, like taking fingerprints and such. I wish there had been more of that in this game, actually!
-You know what I could've done less of, though? FLASHBACKS. UGH GOD JUST ALL THE FREAKING TIME FOR THINGS PEOPLE SAID LIKE FIVE MINUTES AGO AND YOU CAN'T SKIP THE TEXT OR ANYTHING KDFGJKHDGFJKH
-I am furiously gay for Klavier, and my gayness only increased as the game went on. Especially on the final case where you're cross-examining Kristoph, and Apollo and Trucy say something about how Klavier is on the offensive because his brother is watching. That was so adorable :3 KLAVIER WANTS HIS BIG BROTHER TO BE PROUD, AWWWWWWW
-... y'know, I normally really hate "gangsta" types, but Wocky is so hilarious to me. SOME G SHOT ME IN THE CHEST, TRU DAT
-On that note, I normally hate pretentious, know-it-all jerks, and although I did loathe Wesley at first, he really grew on me. Scientific panties
-Is it just me, or does the art seem slightly different in this game? Cleaner, maybe? Does anyone know if they got a new artist?
-Man, I guessed the whole cell phone thing way before Trucy kidnapped herself and gave you that tl;dr lesson on Perceiving, which made it really annoying when I was trying to find contradictions in Wesley's testimony at first. YOU DON'T HAVE A CELLPHONE
On that note, did this game seem a bit easier than the last games? Maybe I'm just used to how these work now or something, but I just... kept guessing all sorts of things way before they happened and sort of flew through cross-examinations, which I don't remember really doing in previous games. :O Am I just imagining things?

-Y'know, I wasn't expecting to like Vera, but I actually wound up thinking she was really adorable towards the end. There's really no possible way I could hate her after seeing her look so happy about painting and magic shows as a kid. :3 Which also made the whole poisoning thing about a hundred times more depressing.
Speaking of that, I heard something about how if you choose 'Guilty' at the end, then Vera actually dies in the hospital, which is really terrible to me for some reason. I mean, she pretty much stayed in the same house her entire life, was terrified to go outside due to almost being kidnapped, spent her time making forged artwork under her dad's name, and then she just DIES after everyone declares her guilty of murdering her own father without her ever having a chance to turn her life around. That's like... that's not even just depressing, that's like Earthbound depressing. Seriously, what the heck.
-The MASON thing was intriguing, even though it made no sense to me. HOW CAN HE TRAVEL FROM THE PAST TO THE PRESENT COLLECTING EVIDENCE? I HEARD HE WAS APPARENTLY SHOWING HIS HAT-RECORDINGS TO THE JURY AND IT WASN'T ACTUALLY TIME TRAVEL BUT THAT STILL DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. AND WHY ARE THEY LEAVING HIM IN CHARGE OF THE WHOLE JURIST SYSTEM THING ANYWAY? HE'S NOT EVEN A LAWYER ANYMORE

-Kristoph's freakout made me laugh so hard and I'm not even sure why. JUST THAT ONE SPRITE WHERE HE'S SCREAMING AND HIS BEAUTIFUL MANLOCKS ARE MAJESTICALLY FLOWING AROUND IN A SUPER SAIYAN-ESQUE FASHION GOD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE
Though I will say that that one sprite where his head is tilted upright and his face is all shadowy creeps me out. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE? PURE HILARITY
I was disappointed by his motive, though. Making forgeries and giving out poisonous stamps and nail polish and stripping Phoenix of his badge because you were jealous that Zak hired him instead of you, what. KRISTOPH I KNOW YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT
-Y'know, despite the title of the game, it really wasn't even about Apollo, was it? It was all about Phoenix and Trucy. This actually kind of bugged me, since I really would've liked to see some more character development for Apollo... or really, just character development for more people besides Phoenix and Trucy. WOULD YOU TWO STOP HOGGING THE SPOTLIGHT, I SWEAR
-Didn't see the Thalassa thing coming, though the photos of her did look familiar, now that I think about it. Though the LOL I'LL TELL THEM WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT thing kind of ruined any sentimental feelings that scene sparked for me. ADMIT IT, YOU JUST DON'T LIKE THEM
... I thought I had more to say, but I guess not! All in all, I had a lot of fun with it 8D Hopefully the rumored GS5 will flesh out some of the characters a bit more, though. That was an awkward sentence.

Haha, God, I wound up writing a grand total of seven paragraphs in the likes/dislikes section. I MADE SURE TO INCLUDE MY LOVE FOR LINEBECK AND MY DISLIKE FOR THE TEMPLE OF THE OCEAN KING, BY THE WAY. I THOUGHT ABOUT ADDING "LITTLE PURPLE HEADS" IN THE 'LIKES' TEXTBOX, BUT THEN I THOUGHT BETTER OF IT
Gary Gygax is dead, though I'm sure most of you had heard this already. This makes me a bit more sad than it probably ought to, especially considering I've never even played Dungeons & Dragons (yet, anyway. I'd really like to learn, but I don't have anyone to play it with, so there's not... really any point).
Does anyone know how he died, though? I looked up a few articles, and they just said that he had "health problems" through the course of his life and nothing else.

Also, apparently the item storage guy in Mother 3 is based off of Fujio-san, though I never used the item storage guy so I've totally forgotten what he looks like and such. I ought to boot up the game and see, 'cause now I'm all curious. But man, that really shows how much love Itoi puts into the Earthbound/Mother series, doesn't it? Just the STORAGE GUY, of all people, is based off the main character of a touching little video Itoi did in the 90's. Just a minor little NPC.
And on that note PLAY MOTHER 3 RIGHT NOW BRAWL'S RELEASE DATE IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER AND IT'S GOING TO SPOIL, LIKE, THE ENDING TO M3, SO YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY GO PLAY THROUGH IT WITH THE TRANSLATION WALKTHROUGHS AND MENU PATCH OKAY I PROMISE IT'S WORTH IT AND IT ONLY TOOK ME ABOUT 20 HOURS TO BEAT IT SO YOU STILL HAVE TIME
God, why is this so weirdly addicting to listen to. I EVEN HAVE AN .MP3 OF IT, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME
Hahahaha, the Japanese version. Speediest beating ever. Someone on the comments mentioned that the English version sounds like he's shooting a laser at them, though, which also cracked me up.
Totally going to be a track in the next Silent Hill game.
MAN THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME. And this one isn't as visually interesting, but heck is that song isn't catchy as all get-out. I actually have a flash idea for it, but the problem is that my idea is from the POV of a guy, and the song is from the POV of a (somewhat girly) girl, so if any Japanese-speaking people watched my video they would just point and laugh and call me a dumb American and kick sand in my face and steal my wife what am i talking about
I can't see my idea working as well the other way around, though. :< Though it's probably just as well, since I don't know the slightest thing about flash or have a copy of it or anything. angst
