backupdump002: (WHERE'S MY BIRTHDAY CAAAKE)
-forgot to mention, but we went to texas several weeks ago to visit grandparents. they seem to be doing pretty well, actually, which was good to see.
-JUST got back from eureka springs. stayed there a couple of days for mom's birthday. it was pretty nice, haha. have some pics [17] )

i normally hate it when people add their own music to these things, but in this case, it just makes it more hilariously surreal
backupdump002: (tsun tsun)
the holiday post is still open. i also put a "need address" note in very rude bold letters next to everyone who hasn't sent me their address/whose address i didn't receive for whatever reason, so those who have been MARKED better send me a PM!!! or e-mail!!!! or something!!!!!!!!

john and sherah are here. it's been a pretty nice visit. i can't think of a lot of super noteworthy things, except...
wacky stories )

man, i'm really looking forward to the day when people realize that the VAST MAJORITY of what i say--even the more angsty stuff--is playful and not meant to be taken 200% SERIOUSLY, so then decide to play along rather than give me lectures about ~life~ and tell me things i already know and push viewpoints that i already have and generally wag their finger me, thus making the conversation come to an uncomfortable halt while i just go "yeah, i know, it was a joke"
because that's really off-putting and fairly condescending and just tiring above everything else. it seems like every conversation i've had lately just ends with the person i'm talking to going WELL GEE DON'T SAY THAT or OH WELL THIS IS HOW THINGS REALLY ARE or I THINK IT MEANT THIS or YOU SHOULD THINK THIS over the most obviously sarcastic things. maybe these people just don't talk to me enough to pick up on my sense of humor, but goddamn, i don't think it's especially subtle or anything. i like to think that it's pretty obvious when i'm actually being serious about something or genuinely need advice (since i'll usually, uhh, ask for it), but i guess not

on an unrelated ragenote (HINT: SERIOUS), shit like this pisses me off so much. this is why i'm so ridiculously cynical when it comes to just about anything that pushes "family values" since, in my experience, that almost always seems to include keeping kids "safe" (HINT: SARCASM COMIN' UP) from all those filthy gays and transsexuals trying to pollute their minds with their lord-hating feather boas and sparkly thongs because that's all LGBT people are, obviously, and there's no possible way that they're just average, everyday people you see walking down the street or anything. like, i dunno, me. (HINT: TRUTH)

I'M GOING TO BED (HINT: PROBABLY TRUE)
backupdump002: (larry relaxed)
man, this week was a really off week for art. i just had zero motivation to draw anything, aaaand instead wound up playing video games, for the most part. it's soooort of come back today, though, so maybe next week will have more.

anyway, art [5] )

so, a couple of nights ago the electrical box thing in our backyard blew up and we had to call 911. everything was all right, but it startled the hell out of us since the lights just suddenly flickered and dimmed until they were nearly off and there was this ridiculously loud BZZZZZ noise, and when you looked out the downstairs windows it was just completely white everywhere. then the neighbor knocked on our door and told us our yard was on fire. OH.

it wound up being a pretty minor thing, though; didn't even lose power (though the people behind us did hohoho). probably the best part was when the manly, mustachioed PSO guy showed up and wrestled with LIVE WIRES (WHILE THEY WERE SETTING FIRE TO THINGS) while making cool one-liners in a grizzly southern accent. the electronics were going crazy while he did that, too. IT WAS SO COOL though i'm glad i turned my computer off when i heard his truck

tired of my sides killing me when i sit a certain way ow ow ow ow ow stop stop stop
backupdump002: (i dunno lol)
oh yeah, i never did that vacation post

i guess i'll do it now (extremely imageheavy) )

jesus that took way too long. nobody is going to read this whole thing.
backupdump002: (i'm ~free~)
COOL THINGS:
-visiting [livejournal.com profile] wishwashing (and her new kitten)! funny people was weirdly depressing but i'm not an adam sandler fan so i managed just fine but it had MANY LAUGHS as well, so good stuff. i meant to bring no more heroes for our video gamery, but wound up leaving the disc in the wii at home, hahaha. ran all over the place in half-life, instead.
i loved the fact that all the other birthday cards people gave her were really nice and had butterflies and puppies or whatever, while the one i gave was just an old guy in a thong

-going to a paul mccartney concert! that was actually the first concert i've ever been to and OH GODDD SO GOOOOOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS IN THE SAME ROOM AS PAUL MCFUCKINGCARTNEY OH GOD IT WAS SO AMAZING AND I REALLY REALLY WISH I BROUGHT A CAMERA BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE AUDIENCE DID DFGKHSKDFHS
the stage shot fireworks during "live and let die," which scared the crap out of me, oh god. i love it when he does that song, though, because he just looks like this complete madman on the piano. that's kind of a lame video, though. HE ROCKED OUT A LOT MORE AT OURS, HE STOOD UP
he's such a ham, haha. he also wore a light pink shirt and white suspenders under his jacket which i thought was hilarious for some reason (everyone wooed when he took his jacket off and he was just like YEP THAT'S THE BIG COSTUME CHANGE FOR THE SHOW)
so cool. i want to give him a hug, he's so charming.

-apparently david sedaris is coming back here, and is going to do a performance thing rather than a book-signing. need to get tickets!

art [9] (all the RIVALS in the audience better click) )

backupdump002: (ADVENTURE TIME)
Hey! I have another question, though this time it's about something a lot bigger than censorship differences.
How would you guys like to start a charity drive with me?

See, [livejournal.com profile] gogoicarus had an awesome outcome with her drive, and I was really inspired by it and decided to try and do something similar to that, where people donate to charity and show proof of it to "commission" artwork and stuff, right? I was originally going to fly solo, but then I got to thinking, and-- well, why not see if other people wanted to join in? We could start a community for it, let anyone who wanted to lend a hand volunteer. And hey, why stop at artwork? People could write, make icons, make videos, play songs, whatever they want. Use their talents for good and all that. They wouldn't have to be MASTERS at what they do, they'd just have to be willing to do it. There's no better time for it, man; the economy's in the pits.

Would you guys be up for it?

Like I said, I don't have all the details worked out or anything (would this be an event or year-round, what would "prices" be and how much would each charitable act be worth, etc), and I don't think this is something I could manage all on my own so I'd need a few people willing to help mod, but. Those are minor. WE CAN WORK IT OUT

Spam this post with ideas, thread-hop, go for it. LET'S MAKE SOME MAGIC GUYS dude what if we do it and it gets all huge and famous that would be so cool

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] supercharitygo YESSS
EDIT #2: Hey guys, I could really use some co-mods! If anyone's at all willing to help run this, please leave a comment. (As a note, modding pretty much consists of keeping an eye on things to make sure there's no trolling or shadiness or anything, answering questions, and also meeting with other mods from time to time to help make decisions. It's nothing extremely labor-intensive, but you have to be willing to help!)
EDIT #3: Current Ideas/Issues -- Need Opinions (Updated 03/07/09 )
backupdump002: (travis lazy)
So anyway, my mom's friend hooked up with some handsome guy and ran off to Mexico where she got her purse stolen. Her purse had EVERYTHING in it--all her credit cards, ID, passport, etc--so my mom had to go running all over town talking to people and faxing things just to help her get back in the 'States. Mom and I even went over to her house to look for her old passport (she asked us and she'd given Mom the key before she left, we didn't just break in dkjgh), which was as boring as it sounds and then some. I thought we'd find it in, I dunno... thirty minutes? We were there THREE HOURS. We checked and double-checked every inch of her house, including the garage, including the refrigerator, and we literally could not find it anywhere. We eventually got frustrated and left, and I felt so cranky about it for the rest of the night.

Well, Mom went back over the next day, and you know what? She found it in ten minutes. It was in the top drawer in the filing cabinet. That was the first place I looked. We checked that freaking filing cabinet about four times. How the crap did we keep missing it. What the hell.
What the hell.
But at least that's over with! I'm glad she wont have to sneak across the border on the back of a truck or anything

I'm almost done with holiday sketches! I've got six left, though I'm working on making that five. I haven't forgotten about getting a P.O. box, but right now we're iced in, so we can't go anywhere. We're supposed to get more, too. I hope this doesn't turn out like last year.

We don't have the cash to fly John over for Christmas and neither does John. I think we're going to pay for his ticket... anyway? Somehow? ffff, I don't know. I wish he handled his money better and didn't spend it all going out to eat every night and everything :|

backupdump002: (you hear that new kenny winker song)
MYSTERY MEME WHICH I NOW HAVE TO DO, BECAUSE MY CURIOSITY WAS TOO MUCH TO BEAR (WHAT WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE SAYING ABOUT ME WHAT)

1. There are 30 questions.
2. Next to each number, write only the name of the person who fits.
3. Answer one question with one name.
(lol)
4. Don't tell the questions to anyone who isn't doing the meme.

Were you mentioned?! )

So the other night I went to bed and a brown recluse spider came out from behind my pillow and started crawling on my arm.
... t-to tell you the truth, I was more angry than I was scared. I mean, this was the night I came home from visiting my grandpa, and I only got three hours of sleep and had stayed up way later than I should have, and all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and some stupid poisonous spider has to try and ruin everything. Like, what is it trying to prove?! I couldn't even kill it, either, because it startled the crap out of me and ran off before I could grab something. It's like one of those screamers people send around where you think you're trying to find Waldo, and then this scary face pops up and screams, and then you manage to turn off the sound only after it stops screaming because you were too busy being in a fetal position and sobbing. It's like, what the crap.
Of course, then I just told myself that brown recluse spider bites are usually not fatal and just climbed into bed anyway. SLEEP OUTWEIGHS MY FEAR OF DEATH

So I've been trying to draw more lately, since I've kind of fallen into the trap of being like MY ART SUCKS ;_; and then never picking up a pencil. A method that really works well for me is to have one window open with Pose Maniacs and then another open with Maxwell Adams, and then I just copy poses on the Random Pose Viewer on some notebook paper and have the videos going as entertainment. IT MAKES THE TIME FLY I'LL TELL YOU WHAT and it seems like I do better that way rather than playing music or having it silent. Maybe it just puts me in a better mood.

SO ANYWAY

ART POST! )

why is my computer being so slooooowwwwww

Trip report! finally done with this jesus christ

I'm just using Photobucket's Ghetto Image Resizer to resize these, though if you want higher res versions of any of these for whatever reason then let me knooooowwww :O
Extremely pic heavy. I'm not even kidding. )

Haha, oh yeah, I did that gamer personality quiz that [livejournal.com profile] zarla linked and got The Class Clown (Reckless Sociable Fun Veteran (RSFV)). Why does this not surprise me
backupdump002: (DURR)
lol i'm in seattle

I don't wanna say too much right now since I wanna wait until I'm home and can really take the time to type something up (and plus this laptop keyboard is annoying and my RIDICULOUSLY LONG NAILS keep getting caught in the keys), but I just wanna say that I didn't die on the way over and things have been pretty great so far and so forth 8D It's a good thing we didn't plan to meet up at Disneyland or anything, [livejournal.com profile] zarla and [livejournal.com profile] gogoicarus, since it turns out that we didn't even go to California at all due to the whole place being up in flames right now. It probably would've been fine, but we just didn't want to risk driving through all the smoke. So... yeah! So instead of driving through California, we went to Texas, drove home and stayed for a few days, then drove to Denver and flew to Seattle. KIND OF A WEIRD PLAN, BUT IT WORKS

It's lookin' like Mom and I are going to stay for a few extra days, though, so we can help John move into his new house. I'm not sure on the exact amount--just however long it takes to finish--but after that then Mom and I are going to drive back home, which will take another 3-4 days. So I'm guessing it's going to be at least another week? YOU GUYS GET AN EVEN LONGER BREAK FROM MY OBNOXIOUS SPAM, IN OTHER WORDS. I just hope the van holds out long enough for us to drive home since that thing is falling apart werjrwhgeg

Anyway, I ought to go. MORE ADVENTURES AWAIT US YET though I dunno if anything can top meeting the former president of Nintendo for me that was awesome
backupdump002: (8U)
OH MY GOD YOU GUYS GUESS WHAT I DID

I MET DAVID SEDARIS

HE MADE AN APPEARANCE AT BARNES & NOBLE TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS AND TALK ABOUT HIS NEW BOOK AND READ EXCERPTS FROM IT AND STUFF WHICH HE DID AND THEN WE HAD TO WAIT LIKE SEVEN HOURS AND THEN IT WAS OUR TURN AND HE DREW A PICTURE OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN IN OUR BOOK AND TALKED TO US A BIT AND THE WHOLE TIME I WAS TOO SHY AND NERVOUS TO SAY ANYTHING BUT AS WE WERE STARTING TO SHUFFLE OUT HE LOOKED AT ME AND ASKED HOW OLD I WAS AND I SAID SIXTEEN AND THEN HE SAID THAT WHENEVER TEENAGERS CAME TO VISIT HIM AT BOOK-SIGNINGS AND STUFF HE LIKES TO GIVE THEM GIFTS THOUGH I FORGOT WHY AND THEN HE TOLD ME A STORY ABOUT CONDOMS AND CHERRIES AND OLIVE OIL THAT HAD EVERYONE IN THE ROOM CRACKING UP AND I JUST TRIED LIKE THREE TIMES TO RETELL IT HERE BUT IT KEEPS COMING OUT ALL FAILY I THINK I'M TOO CAPSLOCK RIGHT NOW SOMEONE ASK ME LATER

BUT ANYWAY HE GAVE ME TWO PAINTED POPSICLE STICKS AND SAID THAT WAS ALL HE HAD LEFT AND APOLOGIZED BUT I'M JUST THRILLED THAT HE GAVE ME ANYTHING AT ALL :D THEY'RE SITTING IN FRONT OF ME RIGHT NOW AND I HAVEN'T DECIDED WHERE TO PUT THEM YET BUT AKFGJHDFGHADFGLADFGJ

ALSO HIS BODYGUARD LOOKED LIKE A MANLY VERSION OF BRUSHEL WHICH MADE THINGS EVEN BETTER

AND GUESS WHAT ELSE

BEFORE WE LEFT FOR BARNES & NOBLE I TALKED TO MY BROTHER ON THE PHONE AND HE GOT THE GAME DESIGN JOB AND IS GOING TO WORK ON THE NEW BANJO KAZOOIE GAME
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM FOR HIM OH MY GOD

TODAY IS AWESOME

AND BEFORE I FORGET, TOMBSTONE MEME. I DON'T USUALLY DO THESE BUT THIS ONE LOOKED LIKE IT COULD BE FUNNY

WOW I'M HUNGRY I HAVEN'T HAD DINNER YET
backupdump002: (WUH)
Man, the past several days or so have been awesome.

First of all HEY [livejournal.com profile] waywardoctagon I GOT YOUR PACKAGE AND ADFLGHALDFGH LITTLE WEIGHTED COMPANION CUBE AND CAKE OMG :O MAN YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN MY FACE WHEN I OPENED IT I GOT THIS GIANT GRIN
BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH THAT'S SO AWESOME I have put them on my bookcase with Cloud and Peasley 8D It was actually kind of funny when I opened the package, since I had actually just been looking at Weighted Companion Cube plush toys and stuff and wishing that I had a WCC thing of my own, and then suddenly BAM HANDMADE FIGURINE SUCKA and man it was excellent. i am barely coherent right now
BUT THANK YOU AGAIN I'll have to remember to take pictures when I get some new batteries. I could draw you something in return if you waaant :O

I saw Cloverfield recently, which was great and something that I highly recommend. It really gave you a sense that that was actual footage of a disaster, which was neat and made things a lot more intense. The handheld camera thing didn't bother me, personally, though if you guys get motion sick easily, then, uh... watch out? I dunno :B But you should at least attempt, if you can.

We also rented 300, which was... okay, I guess. I liked it from an artistic point of view. The movie itself was about what I expected, really.

SO HEY WANNA KNOW WHAT WE DID TODAY??? WE SAW JOHN EDWARDS SPEAK AT A POLITICAL RALLY! WOOOOOOOOOO I don't think anyone in my family is actually voting for him, but we still just wanted to see him :B nobody ever comes here okay it was exciting
It was just a little local one, with maybe... I'd say about 200 other people there. It was a fairly small building that barely had any ventilation, so it was real hot, which kind of sucked. Especially since we had to wait for about an hour or so before he got there. BUT we managed to muscle our way to the front of the crowd (I would up being next to some really determined old lady with a camera who randomly stole my sign after the speech was over, and some fangirl who... I guess had a crush on Edwards or something, since she kept gushing over him. OH MY GOD I JUST SAW HIM THROUGH THE CURTAIN AAAAAAAAAA HE LOOKS SO MUCH CUTER IN REAL LIFE), and I actually got to shake his hand when he came in! 8D That makes him the first famous person I've ever met.

As for the speech itself and everything, he... actually didn't seem all that into it. He seemed like he was kind of forcing it and trying to sound spirited and everything, yet at the same time he seemed kind of... defeated? And he seemed like he was kinda rushing through his speech and didn't stick around very long afterwards or anything. Mom and Sarah noticed this, too. I felt bad for him.

Sarah got some nice pictures, though :B We tried to get him to autograph our sign, and Sarah actually followed him from the "stage" (there wasn't any actual stage, he just sort of... stood in the middle of a room) to the curtain and called him just as he was about to leave, but no dice. We were gonna wait by the back door, but the whole thing managed to end right as a cold front was coming in, and we didn't really wanna stand around in that. We all got to shake his hand, though, and that was all we really wanted.

Bill Clinton is gonna make a speech nearish to where we live, too (a few hours away? longer?), so we're gonna try and go to that as well. I WILL TRY TO SHAKE HIS HAND though this will be like twenty times bigger than Edwards', so it'll probably be a lot more difficult. BUT I WILL TRY

In other news, I beat Phantom Hourglass! I thought about bringing my DS to political rally so I could finish it (I was on the final boss), but then decided that I didn't wanna carry it around. I SHOULD'VE DONE IT THOUGH, I TOTALLY COULD'VE BEATEN THAT FINAL BOSS WHILE WE WAITED anyway
Spoilers for the whole game, in no particular order. )
BUT THE BEST PART WAS DEFINITELY GOING INTO THE FINAL BOSS FIGHT WITH THREE HEARTS AND WINNING WITH ONLY HALF A HEART
YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW PANICKY I WAS DURING THAT BATTLE

So anyway, yeah, that was fun. Now I need to actually finish Windwaker

I'm thinkin' my next gaming conquest will be Partners in Time, since I'm pretty close to the end, I think. It's really hard to motivate myself to finish that game for some reason, though. It's just... kind of boring and doesn't really feel like Superstar Saga did at all -- I'd hardly even call it a sequel. Not to mention that it has Baby Bowser in it, and every time I see Baby Bowser I am overcome with the urge to punch him in the face.
But I dunno! Maybe I'll think differently when I finish it. AND SPEAKING OF SUPERSTAR SAGA PEASLEY STICKER IN BRAWL OH MY GOD

And this is probably only awesome to me, but I'm finally getting some new glasses after having these crappy ones for about two years and nothing before that. I'm all excited, I even marked the day they come in on my calendar :D shut up

Best cosplay skit ever y/y.
In case you were wondering where that one meme came from. This cracked me up.
I think I actually might like this guy's voices better than the originals :B
...I feel so bad for laughing at this
1:22 gets me every time.
Got this offa Zarla. AHAWHAWHAWHAW
That there is some neat dancin'. Though I kind of feel sorry for the guy at the end. THAT LOOKS UNCOMFORTABLE :O
I can't get over how lovely this is. And apparently the dancers are deaf and don't have any offstage cues or anything, which only makes it all the more amazing.

I'VE HAD THREE HOURS OF SLEEP WOOOO
backupdump002: (GO TEAM VENTURE)
HEY [livejournal.com profile] waywardoctagon I GOT YOUR CARD and I will have you know that the first words that came out of my mouth when I saw the envelope were "oh awesome it's fromHEY YODA STAMP 8D"
BUT THANK YOU man you and Zarla both drew Peasley and Luigi on your cards, which I think is awesome :B YOU PEOPLE KNOW ME SO WELL

SO CHRISTMAS WAS AMAZING WANNA KNOW WHAT WE DID tl;dr )

Aaaaand I really can't think of anything else that's all that noteworthy. Most of our Christmas adventures were more of a "you had to be there" sort of thing, really. BUT IT WAS GREAT and God this entry is getting way too long. CONCLUSION: I LOVE MY FAMILY
backupdump002: (DURR)
My doorknob is broken and now I can't open my bedroom door. This would suck if my door wasn't a Dutch door (I think that's what they're called, anyway), so I can just easily climb over the bottom half |B IT'S ACTUALLY KIND OF FUN and this is also one of those times where I'm glad that I'm a pretty scrawny little person, otherwise we might be in trouble. Also, of course, I keep managing to stub my toe on the threshold. DURR

Anyway yeah, I guess we should fix that or something. I dunno. I probably wont do anything until after New Year's because mehhhh lazy.

SO TODAY WAS INTERESTING, AND BY INTERESTING I MEAN DFGLKFDGKLFGADJDGLKA )

In less disgusting and terrible news, I mailed out everyone's cards a day or two ago, so those should be getting to you guys soonish :D Look for the "From Dox" on the back. Also keep in mind that I wrote them in the wee hours of the morning, so they MIIIIIIIIIIGHT be a little strange. And on that note HEY [livejournal.com profile] zarla I GOT YOUR PACKAGE man I needed that today 8D THE CHIPTUNES ARE GREAT AND I HAVEN'T WATCHED MST3K YET BUT I WILL SOON AND THE TINY NUN HAS FOUND A PLACE AMONG MY MANY POKEMON FIGURINES I would've put her on my dresser but it's kinda wobbly and I didn't want her to fall and be lost forever or anything. AND I DID NOT KNOW THAT ABOUT LUIGI awwwwwwww. Just when you think he can't get any more adorable. Also, I like all the doodles and stuff, heh 8D PEASLEY, THE PERFECT TOUCH TO EVERY LETTER
BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH IS WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY HERE I must hang this on mah letter waaaalllll

What else, what else. Oh yeah, The Bouncer is the most hilarious game ever. The idea of having a game about bouncers is pretty cool, I think, but Square kind of... messed it up. Needs to be longer, needs more gameplay, needs less cliches. Really, though, the campyness is what makes this great, so in a lot of ways I wouldn't change this at all. It's sort of like a bad movie, y'know -- you know it's bad, you can rattle off about a billion things they could've done to improve it, but at the same time it's just so unintentionally hilarious that you can't help but love it. IT HAS SPUNK. Or maybe I'm just crazy, I dunno
Also, what's-her-face near the end is totally a Rinoa prototype y/y. SHE EVEN DOES THE POSE. You'll see what I mean when you get there.
Ahahahahahahahaha
This makes me happy for some reason.
This is eerily realistic. Can you believe how much we've advanced? It's really quite something. This one is pretty amazing, too.
I DON'T CARE HOW ENDEARING THEY TRY TO MAKE TITAN THE ROBOT BE BY HAVING HIM SING OLDIES MUSIC AND DANCE, HE STILL SCARES THE CRAP OUT OF ME.
It's scary how much I can relate to these types of songs. I'M SO LAME, GOD

woooo still feel vaguely nauseated. And I also feel like I'm getting a cold. BAH.
backupdump002: (NINTENDO SIXTY-FOOOOOOUUURRR)
WTF WTF WTF TREES ARE RANDOMLY FALLING APART IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WTF WTF

This started last night -- I was just lying in bed, trying to go to sleep, when I suddenly heard this really loud 'CRACK' and the sound of leaves rustling. I couldn't see anything when I looked outside, but every now and then I'd hear that same noise, and it sounded like it was coming from all over the neighborhood.

So then I looked out my window this morning, and... )

This is still going on, by the way. I've heard several today, and I heard one just while writing this entry. This is neat and horribly sucky at the same time. One of the things I LIKED about this neighborhood was that it had a lot of trees in it, and now they're all falling apart for some reason D:

Also, woooo ice. Hopefully this wont wind up like last year where my parents and I had to walk ON ICE to get to the store and everything. Though that was kinda fun.

Edit: I just talked to my dad, and he says that this has been going on all over town, and it's MUCH worse out there. He also says that there's a lot of places that don't even have power right now, so we're really lucky to still have it. He also predicts that they're all falling apart because of the weight of the ice. I kinda figured it was something like that.

ANYWAY I think we're gonna go drive around, so I'll edit this later with some more pictures :B

Edit #2: True to my word, I have brought more pictures! )

God, and then our yard barely has anything. We are so lucky, you guys. watch as we suddenly get a limb through the window or something
backupdump002: (kyle grin)
Welp, John and Ashley left this afternoon. I MISS THOSE KNUCKLEHEADS ALREADY :<

Quick Rundown of Stuff We Did:
Oops, this actually came out pretty long. )

Ashley took a bunch of pictures and put 'em all on a CD for us :D I've been thinking of making a big, friends locked post with pictures and more detailed descriptions and everything, but I haven't decided yet. I MEAN YOU GUYS ARE PRETTY SHADY AND EVERYTHING, I DON'T KNOW. We'll see.

I haven't finished PW3 yet, since I've been so busy. I'm on case 4. I'LL BE SURE TO MAKE A BIG OL' RAMBLY SPOILER POST ONCE I'M DONE, THOUGH (under an LJ-Cut, don't worry). I've even been keeping a little notebook of stuff I wanna mention. I'm lame.
But on a non-spoilery note, is it just me, or do the cases seem a lot longer and more complicated this time around? I dunno, maybe it's just because I haven't had a lot of time to play it so my PW3 time is very spread out :B Not to mention that I tend to forget a lot of stuff by the time I get back to it, SO YEAH, THAT MIGHT MAKE THINGS A LITTLE COMPLICATED. Has anyone else felt that way, though?

Woooooooooo now I hafta get back to doing FFIV and everything. BACK TO WORK. I was kind of missing doing those, though 8D And asdfdsf parents yelling at me to come to dinner SEE YOU GUYS SORRY TO END ON A KIND OF ABRUPT NOTE THERE WILL ADD SUBJECT AND STUFF LATER

Edit: Weee okay. Fixed everything up. And I found a nice 'thank you' letter from Ashley on the table :3 Aww. She's so sweet.

Random survey. )

I've had a .txt file of this entry sitting around since, like... Monday. I THINK THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW LAZY (and distractable) I AM

Anyway, over the weekend we went to my grandparents' B&B and stayed for a while and stuff. It wasn't very eventful, but it was still pretty nice :D They had customers staying while we were there which was kind of awkward at times, but they were friendly and stuff so it was cool. And JoAnne accidentally served us fermented orange juice the day we left. WHOOP

On the night the day we got back, Mom and Sarah apparently heard a really loud, bizarre, animalistic noise that went on for a few minutes at 5AM. Apparently it sounded like someone honking and screaming. Or a honkyscream. Mom said she looked outside and didn't see anything, and also that she called the police and they didn't find anything. And not only THAT, but Mom and I also looked around outside for signs of anything and also didn't find anything. We have dubbed this strange phenomenon the 'Goose Lady'. And I had also completely forgotten about it until I opened up this file. lol memory

AND OH OH OH I GOT THE GREATEST NEWS EVER EVERYBODY READ THIS ESPECIALLY YOU [livejournal.com profile] le_dog AND [livejournal.com profile] wishwashing

Okay, I don't think I've ever really mentioned this before, but my second cousin is an actress who goes by the stage name Renee Victor (here's her IMDb profile HEY COOL SHE WAS ON ER), and she's in this movie called Hollywood Familia, right? Well, apparently the movie was never shown in our town so Mom wrote an e-mail to the theater telling them about it, asking them to show it, mentioning that her cousin was in the movie and so on. So the theater e-mailed her back asking if Stella (Renee. whatever. I'll just call her Stella) would like to make an appearance at the theater and talk to the audience and stuff. So Mom called Stella about it and not ONLY does she want to do it, but she wants to bring her director, Frank Aragon! :D AND HE SAID YES! I think. I'm 90% sure, anyway. ANYWAY the movie is apparently supposed to air here in September, and Stella will definitely be there.
Blaire, Wish, you guys need to come. Bring your friends and family and come see Stella. According to her the movie actually isn't that great BUT THAT'S OKAY because Stella will be there and she is the nicest person in the world :D :D I'll be sure to let you two know when there's a specific date, but until then, try and keep your September schedule somewhat flexible! Or something. WEE

Wow, that paragraph went all over the place. SO HAPPY CAN'T TYPE LOL

Weeee what else was I gonna talk about... I think that might be all the news I have, life-wise. So LINKS!
Soul Calibur 3 - Kafra Girls Special - This makes me so happy and I don't even know why. I need to get Soul Calibur 3, that reminds me.
Ragnarok the Animation Parody Subtitles - Episode 01 - God I hope they do the whole series.
Serial Experiments Lain - Episode 1 - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 - This is a very pretty, well-done anime that can be seriously creepy at times. It's a little slow and might not be for everyone, but I thought it was kinda neat :O
Panda-Z - Episode 2 - Am I just crazy, or do those batteries look delicious? Like steamed carrots or something.
Excel Saga - Episode 1 - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 - Is basically just slapstick. A lot of people will probably just think this is stupid and loud and obnoxious, but I personally thought it was kinda funny. LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS IS JUST HOW I ROLL I GUESS LOL.
Justice For All trailer - I was totally getting into this until it showed Phoenix and Franziska engulfed in flames of the LAW. Then I just cracked up. Also, there's a part in this where it tells you the premise for a few of the cases so if you want the whole game to be a surprise then I'd reccommend skipping this :O
The Dears - 22: The Death of All the Romance - A cute, but also incredibly depressing music video.
Parappa Rappa Anime Intro - AND ON THAT NOTE, FUNK! I want that song. I've actually never played a Parappa Rappa game before, but now I want to :B I should pick it up and stuff.
I have no idea what this is.
TIDUS HUNGRY - HAHAHAHAHA
First part of FFX-2 - Oh god, FFX-2. It's friggin Charlie's Angels meets Final Fantasy. This takes a while to fully load, and it's slightly laggy, AND the sound is a little quiet, but the horror still remains!
Heh, but the sad part about that game is that it's actually very fun and addicting to play, and also a great pick-me-up. Not to mention some of the music is pretty catchy :O Oh yeah, and if you're too lazy to wait for that video to load, you can just watch the very opening and still get a nice juicy dose of sheer corniness. And, of course, now I really wanna start a new game on it. AGH
Sly 2 Ad - La-La - The only accurate description of this is "wtf."
Sly Cooper - Sunset Snake Eyes - MOVING ON, the games themselves are actually tons of fun :D This is the intro to one of the chapters in Thievius Racconus, and as you can see, the game has a very "Saturday morning cartoon" feel to it. It is very neat indeed!
Magic Pengel & Graffiti Kingdom montage - I could never get the hang of that frickin doodle system and did not have the patience to collect color pigments, so this is really impressive to me :O And I went looking for that song played in the video and couldn't find it on LimeWire, so I just recorded it off the video. If anyone happens to have the song or at least a clearer recording of it or something, then it'd be completely awesome if you could send it to me :>
Random SNL skit - Hahahahaaa, Conan.
WarioWare: Smooth Moves - "Instructional Videos" - Like the video comments say, this totally reminds me of Deep Thoughts :D Still haven't played this game yet but man do I want to. I should see if I can rent it or something.

I completely forgot to mention this, but I played Dirge of Cerberus several months ago. I was really only playing it because I wanted to see Cid, but the gameplay (among other things) frustrated me so much I put it down and never played it again. Then a few days ago I was thinking about it and realized I could just look the cutscenes up on YouTube and avoid such frustration. DUHHHH. Don't watch these if you don't want to be spoiled or anything.
clips lol )
But from what I played... I dunno. The game had some fun moments and I liked seeing some old characters, but I just can't get really get into all this new-fangled FF7 stuff. This is all just personal taste, though :O Some of you may really enjoy yourselves if you ever decide to try it out. I really do reccommend playing and beating the original game, though. Maybe that's what I should do for the next screencap thing?

Anyway, that's all for now. Sorry this wound up being so giant!
