+for a while it seemed like everything was going wrong for just... everyone, but i think things are lightening up now.
-apparently they might've found something else during papa's surgery. won't know until later today.

?dad's going to retire in the fall. my parents keep talking about moving somewhere but have no idea where. mom wants to live in europe for a year, i think.

i'm pretty lukewarm about edgeworth (though he has his moments where i really like him), but i'm still really excited for this game! gumshoe's my second favorite character hahaha
also i like edgeworth/gumshoe which probably helps

well i'm not very far in, but it has a pretty unique approach to art. it basically teaches you how to tap into your right hemisphere while you're drawing or something, and how to draw what you see rather than what you think things should look like. pretty much everyone who has read it has said that it's insanely helpful; just looking at peoples' progress after five days (http://drawright.com/gallery.htm) is pretty amazing, and the progress shots they show in the book after a month are even more stellar. SO I'M PRETTY PUMPED

oh yeah! and the exercises in the book are apparently designed to keep the left brain out of everything, which is how it uses your right brain to draw, haha. so it's pretty interesting.

Haha yeah I was being a little harsh. I don't really dislike Edgeworth, but his popularity is kinda weird. He's entertaining at times, but he's the emo pissy pretty boy. I liked Klavier much better. He wasn't a little whiny bitch that just wanted everyone to be guilty because his scarred childhood. He actually wanted JUSTICE. I guess I'm a little bitter because it just feels like Edgeworth is getting a spinoff because he's popular and it would make them money. Know what I mean? Last thing I want is for Edgeworth to turn into a tool.

yesss klavier was great. and i dunno why edgeworth is so popular, really; probably just people going for that sort of ~cold with soft spots~ character, which, i'm usually gaga for that kind of character (kyle hyde~), but edgeworth is just so pompous and emo that it turns me off of him a lot. and i'm sure it's also probably because he's pretty and there's ~*~*~moments~*~*~ between him and phoenix.

i can see what you mean. i'm not sure what other characters could HAVE spinoffs, though; the lawyers are about the only ones who could, and edgeworth and gumshoe already have that zany duo thing going on to make it interesting. even if it could be just a cash cow on their part, i still think it's one of the better choices they have (though i'm aching for a new apollo game just because i'd really like to see those characters developed more. apollo seemed kind of tied down by the OH HE'S JUST LIKE YOUNG PHOENIX gig, and was also totally overshadowed by hobo and klavier and fff).
