Welp, John and Ashley left this afternoon. I MISS THOSE KNUCKLEHEADS ALREADY :<
Quick Rundown of Stuff We Did:
Day 1: Freaked out preparing everything for their arrival. They got here at like 1 AM and we talked and went to bed.
Day 2: Played a lot of Guitar Hero II the next day. Went to Starbucks, Target, and some guitar place. Went to an Irish restaurant. Got left behind as everyone else went to a karaoke bar. Stupid age limit agh.
Day 3: Ran around town and went shopping for Dad. Went to a steakhouse. Got left behind AGAIN as John went to go play his gig at some bar somewhere. Stupid age limit x2 >O Everyone came home and we celebrated Dad's 59th birthday (we got him a recliner :B). We ate some ice cream cake and played more Guitar Hero II.
Day 4: I can't remember what we did that day lol. I think we just hung around. Not sure. Played some Okami, which was stunning to look at and had fun gameplay, but... I dunno, maybe it was just because I didn't play it enough, but the story and stuff was a little boring. I also didn't like the fact that you couldn't skip the text in any of the ~*important*~ scenes, and also the Animal Crossing-esque gibberish noises whenever someone talked. Incredibly pretty and inspiring, though.
I also played Gradius V with my brother. Very fun -- you pretty much just fly around in space and shoot stuff. I think it's more of a multiplayer game, though. Then John, Ashley and I played UmJammer Lammy or whatever it's called, which was annoying. We couldn't get past the first stage, which was weird, given that we were doing perfectly fine. That, and the way everything was set up was terrible -- you have the distracting stuff going on in the background, a big bar on the bottom of the screen showing the lyrics, and then some tiny, confusing little setup in the upper left corner, which you are not instructed on how to read >( Rage. The music sure was catchy, though, which you can probably tell from my Current Music thing :B ahyuk
Day 5: Halloween! YESSS. Started out kind of not good, since Wish and Blaire couldn't come and everyone else was either too busy or just didn't want to go. So that was a pretty big bummer. And then... I guess Mom or someone said that I didn't have anyone to go with and made everyone get together, because I was just sitting up in my room when John knocked on the door and was like HEY ARE YOU GETTING READY WHY AREN'T YOU GETTING READY EVERYONE'S GOING OUT and made me grab my costume. Then he took my -- well, more like his, since I just sorta found it in the garage -- super old Final Fantasy poster. DARN that one was my favorite. Maybe I can find a copy on eBay...
Anyway, it turns out that everyone (aside from Dad, who always likes to stay home and watch movies and hand out candy) had decided to go trick-or-treating. They were all slapping together these makeshift costumes and stuff... I'm not sure if they decided to go themselves or if Mom told them or what, or if they still would've gone if my friends had been able to show up, but... I was still really moved by the whole thing. I mean, they were all getting kind of old to go trick-or-treating, they must've felt kind of ridiculous. Not to mention they were all coming down with colds. And John and Ashley had to meet up with John's friend in like an hour, so they could only go for a little while since they still had to go back and get ready, and... this is coming out really retarded, but I was just really touched. And really happy. Like I've mentioned before, I really can't remember ever spending Halloween with my brother, let alone going trick-or-treating with him, and I've never been in a real big group like that before and lgdafjgkdf i need to stop talking
Anyway, trick-or-treating was really wacky and fun and awesome. The most notable parts were probably the swamp-sorta thing our next door neighbors set up, the haunted house our neighbors down the street had, and the haunted maze thing our neighbors on the hill set up in their front yard (some guy even chases you with a chainsaw at the end! though it doesn't have the actual chain on it, thankfully), me tripping over some lights in front of some girl with a candy bowl and her and her mom pointing and laughing, some guy walking up to me and going "YOU ARE VERY HOT" and walking off, some other guy hanging outside his bedroom window and going GRAAAARRRRRLGLRGLBKRRG at us as we walked by, and encountering a truck with some guy sitting in the back wearing a speedo, some kids on skateboards hanging on the side, and a bunch of people in costume (I gave them a thumbs up, but I dunno if they saw). The best part, though, was going home and hanging out with everyone and trading candy and watching some cheesy martial arts movie 8D Goooooood tiiiiiiiimes.
Wish, Blaire, I'm sorry you guys couldn't come, it would've been cool if you could've met John and everything :< I understand, though. They'll be back for Christmas, though, so... maybe then?
Oh yeah, I went as Otacon, by the way. ALL I NEEDED WAS A LAB COAT AND A GREEN SHIRT, WHY NOT. I already had the hair and everything.
And oh god, you guys wont believe how much candy I got. Like... I had a pumpkin-shaped bucket, right? I actually got a bucket and a half worth of candy. There is this HUGE SACK sitting right next to me, and it is HEAVY AS ALL GET OUT. I'll have to upload pictures for you guys.
Day 6: They left, lol. They were so busy with packing and stuff that we didn't really visit or anything. So... yes.
Ashley took a bunch of pictures and put 'em all on a CD for us :D I've been thinking of making a big, friends locked post with pictures and more detailed descriptions and everything, but I haven't decided yet. I MEAN YOU GUYS ARE PRETTY SHADY AND EVERYTHING, I DON'T KNOW. We'll see.
I haven't finished PW3 yet, since I've been so busy. I'm on case 4. I'LL BE SURE TO MAKE A BIG OL' RAMBLY SPOILER POST ONCE I'M DONE, THOUGH (under an LJ-Cut, don't worry). I've even been keeping a little notebook of stuff I wanna mention. I'm lame.
But on a non-spoilery note, is it just me, or do the cases seem a lot longer and more complicated this time around? I dunno, maybe it's just because I haven't had a lot of time to play it so my PW3 time is very spread out :B Not to mention that I tend to forget a lot of stuff by the time I get back to it, SO YEAH, THAT MIGHT MAKE THINGS A LITTLE COMPLICATED. Has anyone else felt that way, though?
Woooooooooo now I hafta get back to doing FFIV and everything. BACK TO WORK. I was kind of missing doing those, though 8D And asdfdsf parents yelling at me to come to dinner SEE YOU GUYS SORRY TO END ON A KIND OF ABRUPT NOTE THERE WILL ADD SUBJECT AND STUFF LATER
Edit: Weee okay. Fixed everything up. And I found a nice 'thank you' letter from Ashley on the table :3 Aww. She's so sweet.
