HEY [livejournal.com profile] waywardoctagon I GOT YOUR CARD and I will have you know that the first words that came out of my mouth when I saw the envelope were "oh awesome it's fromHEY YODA STAMP 8D"
BUT THANK YOU man you and Zarla both drew Peasley and Luigi on your cards, which I think is awesome :B YOU PEOPLE KNOW ME SO WELL

SO CHRISTMAS WAS AMAZING WANNA KNOW WHAT WE DID
oh God we got spoiled this year you guys
do you know what we got
we got a huge HDTV
and a Playstation 3
and thanks to Mom and John's incredible bartering skills, we got around $700 off the total price
I love my family so much.

We literally spent days researching which TV we wanted, then decided to get the PS3 since it's cheaper than an actual blu-ray player, and plus you can play games and do other stuff with it. It can get a little frustrating trying to play a game, though, since everyone likes to gather around and whine about how boring it is (LET ME PLAY PORTAL YOU GUYS JEEZ |<), but man I don't even care. Playstation-freaking-3. Oh God, I will be able to play Metal Gear Solid 4 when that comes out. Yes, I was worried about that. Shut up.

And you know what else? I got the old TV. There is a 27" TV in my room right now, which I really cannot believe. I'm so used to having my little tiny TV that I've had for about 10 years or so, so this is really weird to me. I turned down the digital cable box, though. I really just use my TV to play games so I know I wouldn't actually use it, and plus it makes my parents' monthly bill a bit cheaper, which they definitely deserve.
Man, still can't believe this. EVEN IF IT'S FREE I STILL FEEL LIKE I NEED TO GIVE THEM MONEY OR SOMETHING

uhhhh BUT OH YEAH so we rented Portal (well, the Orange Box, but I really just got it for Portal), and it has yet to disappoint me. It's very atmospheric and slightly eerie, yet so unique and... I dunno what word I'm looking for BUT IT'S AWESOME. Except I'm completely stuck in testchamber #15 and I cannot get out. WHY CAN'T I JUMP OVER THAT GATE AKLGD@#%(u34%aERTG* oh yeah and I liked how Mario Kart music was playing in the opening. It made me think of something you'd find in an MGS game :B

John left today, which saddens me. I really wish we could see him more often :< But hey, it was fun having him over. We mostly just hung around at home, played games, watched movies -- very pleasant! I'm trying to remember what we did, uhhh... oh, we watched Reefer Madness. Not Mike Nelson's best work, in my opinion, but still pretty funny.

Aaaand uuuhhhhh... oh, on Christmas we listened to the Star Wars: Christmas in the Stars CD. My God. It was pretty much just C-3PO and R2-D2 and random robots, though, which kind of disappointed me. IT HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL! And how awesome would it be to listen to James Earl Jones singing bad Christmas music, I mean come on.
But yeah, I went ahead and zipped it for you guys if you wanna listen. It's... really something. And man, C-3PO really has a thing for bells.

Oh, speaking of Christmas, I goooooot... well, I got the original Star Wars trilogy. SO MUCH STAR WARS THIS CHRISTMAS. I also got Phantom Hourglass, which is ridiculously fun. I am quite gay for Linebeck, yes sir.

I also got Star Fox Command, which... guh. I don't know. Maybe it's awesome for someone else, but for me, I pretty much BREATHED Star Fox when I was a kid, so all the changes are a bit much. Okay, too much. In the opening cutscene they pretty much just change EVERYTHING EVER about the old Star Fox games, and just agdfgkjad ugh. Not to mention the game itself does not feel like a Star Fox game at all. They took a space shooter and turned it into a strategic, turn-based game where you only have x amount of turns to defeat all the enemies. Sure, you get to fly around and shoot junk when you touch an enemy ship, but your only goal in doing so is to defeat a certain amount of certain enemies, AND you're under a time limit, AND you only get to use one character, AND not to mention that these battles usually tend to last for a few seconds. One of the things I loved about the old Star Fox games is that you had so much freedom, and now it just feels way too controlled.
Maybe I'm judging it a little early, though -- I've only finished the main storyline, and there's apparently like nine different endings you can get. I don't know.

Whoa, went on a bit of a rant, there. ANYWAY so I also got Okami, Final Fantasy XII, Super Mario Galaxy, three Series of Unfortunate Events books (I'M ALMOST DONE WITH THE SERIES which is about time since I've been following it for like five or six years), an old*Cloud wall scroll, an old*Cloud action figure (still hasn't gotten here, yet), and Super Smash Brothers Brawl has been pre-ordered and should get here in February. Aaaaaand I'm pretty sure that's it. I'M VERY PLEASED WITH MY LOOT THIS YEAR :D Galaxy is awesome, by the way, though I haven't gotten very far.

Okay, so what else happened... man, this is getting long. Oh, John converted a bunch of our home movies to DVDs, so we watched some of those. Good times, good times. We played a lot of board games, all of which were fun. We went to the Incredible Pizza, which is pretty much just a big arcade with bizarre religious undertones. WE RODE GO-KARTS AND THEN WE GOT "JESUS LOVES YOU" CHALK BOARDS AND HACKY SACKS WITH CROSSES ON THEM and I got a pack of bookmarks. Well, actually, they're oddly-shaped playing cards, but I just looked at them and went "bookmarks! :B" so there you go. I really needed some bookmarks, actually, since before I'd use pretty much anything that was in range. OKAY, EMPTY GLASS, WHATEVER. VITAMIN BOTTLE, SURE. NINTENDO DS, ALRIGHT. DEAD BATTERY, THAT'S GREAT.

John couldn't stay for New Year's, so the night before he left, we all just stood around Dad's satellite clock and counted down 'til midnight. :B NOT QUITE THE SAME WITHOUT DICK CLARK, BUT IT'LL DO. Then after that we watched 28 Days Later, which normally would've just depressed me horribly, but having everyone else there made it fun.

Aaaaand I really can't think of anything else that's all that noteworthy. Most of our Christmas adventures were more of a "you had to be there" sort of thing, really. BUT IT WAS GREAT and God this entry is getting way too long. CONCLUSION: I LOVE MY FAMILY

AND THAT PERSON

Haha, it works! 8D I can never turn down Superstar Saga.

MAN IT'S JUST SO COOL, I CAN'T DESCRIBE IT. It's really something people have to play for themselves, I think.
'Sucks about the graphics, though D: Did you get the PC version, or..?
Dang, this is making me wanna play it as well. Maybe this time I can get past that goshdarn gate >O

Yeah, I tend to turn them upside down as well :B I just always feel bad about dog-earing for some reason, I dunno.

XD FATE.

IT IS I got it because I saw the videos on Youtube of people playing it and it looked so cool, and it is :D even though I know how it ends and all. :B

Yup, PC version. :O I think it's probably something with my graphics drivers or something but I dunno for sure. I thought they were okay but you never know. :O

Yeah, me too. I used to do it all the time but then I stopped, and now it just feels... wrong.

I JUST BEAT IT LIKE TEN MINUTES AGO AND OH WOW THAT WAS SO AWESOME I CAN'T GET OVER HOW AWESOME THAT GAME IS and man "Still Alive" is so messed up once you've actually played the game and everything.

Yeah, it's weird :O It just feels like I'm... I dunno, ruining it or something. I DON'T KNOW

Hahahah oh yeah. XD And you saw these (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_lounge/629855.html), right?

I used to do even worse than that... I'd actually tear little bits off pages (off the corners, not where the words were) and eat them. That was when I was a kid though. :B
