backupdump002Man, I had a dream that I was sitting in this gay marriage store for some reason... maybe I was waiting for a friend or something, but anyway. So I'm just sitting around when N*SYNC WALKS UP WHAT WHAT WHAT SUB-CONSCIOUS WHAT

And N*Sync went :( and walked away. After that I had some dream where my mom was being really psycho and mean for some reason, and I woke up feeling upset because of it. Then I remembered the gay marriage store dream and started laughing my BEAUTIFUL AND TINKLING geek laugh.
In other news, Mom got a job at Dillard's! We went out to eat last night to celebrate. Our waiter had a crazy look in his eye. He probably poisoned our food and we're all going to die, now.
Still though, it's cool that Mom's working there 'casue now we get discounts on all their stuff. Mom said we should go buy me some new clothes for school. Man, every time she talks about me going back to school it always seems to come as a shock. This is probably just because I've been homeschooling for two years and all, so now it's like "oh fuck now I actually have to do some work". I'm not even that worried about the social interaction part. Just schoolwork. Gaaah.
SO ANYWAY. You guys remember that post I made yesterday asking you to vote on the next screencap adventure? Well, I WAS going to do Legend of Mana, but I cannot find a ROM of it for the LIFE OF ME. Man, everyone knows about Secret of Mana, everyone's heard of Children of Mana coming out on the DS, but you just can't find anything for Legend of Mana. It's like Legend of Mana is the neglected middle child of the series or something.
So since I can't find Legend of Mana, I shall be doing...

Missed another shot. A box dropped from the sky and it was all "you can hit inaminate objects! TRY IT" and I broke it. Yep
There's another WONDERFUL QUIRK of CoM.
BONK
That blinds me every time.
So see, you can't just fight heartless on the field (which would make this game a lot more enjoyable). Instead, you get taken to a battle screen, and to my knowledge, you can't run away. So no matter what, if you touch a heartless, you HAVE TO BATTLE IT
There's another thing. You need certain cards to open certain doors, which means that you have to go around fighting heartless until you get the EXACT CARD that you need. So it's not like KH1 where heartless are pretty much just good for leveling and you can skip them if you want. You HAVE to fight them, or you can't go on.
And aw, I love the loading screen.
AND HERE'S ANOTHER THING. Heartless can appear at any part of the map and follow you around. If you stand still long enough, then they'll get you and you have to fight them. And at the end of battles, rather than just get EXP automatically, you have to COLLECT it. I didn't get a screenshot, but there's these little blue (sometimes red) balls that you get when you kill an enemy and you have to collect them before they disappear. That's EXP. So you could kill a Heartless and have it drop EXP, but then some other Heartless start attacking you so you can't move, and then the EXP eventually DISAPPEARS, WHICH MEANS you just spent a bunch of cards killing something with no reward and juhgfjfyufh
Here's what the level up screen looks like. This type of levelling always makes me paranoid. CP makes it so your deck can hold more cards, and sleights are abilities. HP should be obvious.
