Superrrrrrrr

John left this morning, so I'm kinda bummed about that. BUT, as a nice tradeoff, my tablet pen got here today! It feels pretty good to be back at the wheel, I gotta say.
Anyway, we pretty much just lounged around the house and played video games. 'Turns out the 360 got jostled around in the mail and BROKE, which is why it wasn't showing anything, so hopefully the warranty is still good on that. We just rented a 360 in the meantime since John brought lots of games. inb4 lol broken xbox
But yeah, we played You're in the Movies, which isssss... fun, but it seems like you go through a lot of work for not a lot of payoff. The "filming" lasts for, what, fifteen minutes? More? And then the movie is only about a minute long and doesn't even use all the "footage". I was also really disappointed in the greenscreening, since it seems like you literally DO need a greenscreen to properly show up. You can't set it up in a room with too many colors or objects or it'll blot out most of your picture, which means that it wont register parts of your body during mini-games, which means you have to frantically rush to find just the right spot to flail around to win and meanwhile you're totally bombing the game and receiving a barrage of insults from both the Joe Pesci-wannabe director and every other person in the room.
BUT, it's fun. It's best if you try to totally ham things up and make as much of an idiot out of yourself as you possibly can, or even do your own thing, like that one time where I spent a whole round holding our overweight cat and put her face to the camera when it told me to act scared or something. THE RESULTS WERE GOLD
Played Dead Space. Everyone has been raving about that game, but I... wasn't feeling it :/ It has good graphics, sure, but everything else is so mind-numbingly generic. Each room is dull and grey and looks exactly the same as every other room; the monsters are so similar to each other that sometimes I couldn't tell which one I was shooting; your inventory is TINY, even with your suit upgraded to its fullest; the game has this apparent boner for enemies pretending to be dead before springing to life and attacking you when you get close, which startled me at first and lost its sparkle after the millionth time; and the DON'T SHOOT THE BODY SHOOT THE LIMBS (which was drilled into my head about TWENTY TIMES) twist to artificially add challenge didn't really work, considering the fact that each monster has four long, gangly limbs that they like to goofily wave around in your face, and to take one down all you have to do is shoot it in the leg and shoot it in the arm and you're done. Two shots. Worked every time. I'd say that the characters and plotline bored me to tears, but that's kind of par for the course, so it's nothing I didn't expect.
I don't know. Maybe I didn't play it long enough to really get involved, but ugh, I was so immediately put off by it that I don't even want to keep trying with it. It reminded me of Gears of War 2 (John showed me it; haven't played the first) a lot, which everyone I know seems to LOVE while I thought it was a complete bore. 'Makes me long for more Bioshock.
Played GTA4 after Dead Space, which was such a breath of fresh air. Everything about that game is entertaining. You can sit in your apartment and watch TV and you'll have a ball. The writing is great, the acting is amazing (the only bad acting I've seen so far is the shopkeeper in this mission, which isn't much), there's so much to do, and I wish we still had that rental 360 so I could keep playing it. I love it. Niko's my favorite GTA4 protagonist so far :D
Also, LEGO Indiana Jones was pretty cute. I was skeptical about the LEGO games at first, but now they actually seem pretty fun. I'll have to check out the rest. ASIDE FROM THAT I can't think of anything else we played that was real noteworthy. TL;DR YOU'RE IN THE MOVIES IS DECENT IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS, DIDN'T LIKE DEAD SPACE THOUGH PERHAPS I SHOULD GIVE IT A BETTER SHAKE, GTA4 IS GREAT SO FAR, AND PLAYING AS INDIANA JONES IS STRANGELY SATISFYING
