backupdump002OKAY FINALLY STARTING ON THIS
You guys remember that post I made a while ago asking people to vote on what game they wanted me to do a runthrough of? Well, the results wound up being tied between Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Pokemon Red/Blue, and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. All of these are great games that I like very much, and they're also all games that would make for an excellent viewing experience pip pip. It was a tough decision, BUT NEVERTHELESS I HAVE DECIDED
THE GAME I AM GOING TO DO SHALL BE...
MARIO AND LUIGI SUPERSTAR SAGA
I chose this game because, to put it simply, it's just plain fun. The dialogue is quirky and funny, the graphics are colorful and happy, and the characters are lovable and goofy. Not to mention that I don't think a lot of people who watch this journal have played it before, so it'll be a brand new experience! Maybe. I COULD BE COMPLETELY WRONG THERE but either way I'm really looking forward to doing this, and I hope you guys are, too. I think you'll enjoy it.

Oh, I almost forgot, the Normal Battle theme plays here. IT PLAYS WHENEVER THERE IS NORMAL BATTLING
Random note: Whenever Mario attacks Bowser, Luigi will either *boing* happily or laugh, and whenever Bowser attacks Mario then Luigi holds his hands to his face and trembles. There's actually a lot of little interactions like this throughout the game, which I think are really cute and refreshing since you tend to see a lot of people yammering on about how Mario "doesn't care about Luigi" and Luigi "hates Mario for stealing the spotlight." YOU PEOPLE DISGUST ME

This might be a little confusing at first, but you definitely get used to it.
I guess he means when one of the brothers faint, or one of the (rare) moments when they're apart.

Level up! Whenever you level up you can roll to get a bonus on the stat of your choice. I think the highest you can get is +5, but I might be wrong. Here's me getting a lousy +1. Argh.
Also, in case you're wondering what "Stache" is, it's basically just Luck -- sometimes, when you hit an enemy, you'll get a 'Lucky' bonus and do a critical hit (I think it's double what your regular attack is, I can't remember). Its second purpose, however, is getting you discounts at shops. The higher your Stache points, the bigger the discount. It's very handy!

And stomp them I did!
This can be very handy, especially if you run into a really weak group of enemies and wanna just get them out of the way.

And this can be very bad. If Luigi gets hit then he's stunned for a whole turn (or until he gets hit, I think), however if Mario gets hit then he gets up right away. YOU'RE SUCH A WUSS LUIGI JEEZ
