OH GOD this roach or something crawled into a glue trap in my room, but it just got the front part stuck so it keeps lifting its ass up and snapping it back down so it makes this really loud "clack" noise
and that's gross enough on its own, but
but the worst part
is that this brown recluse spider that's been in there for god knows how long keeps moving every now and then. IT'S BEEN IN THERE FOR WEEKS AND WEEKS I THOUGHT IT WAS DEAD AND IT KEEPS SLOWLY MOVING ITS LEGS AROUND HRNGRH
guhhh how long do they stay alive in the trap UGH I THOUGHT THE SPIDERS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE GETTING BIGGER OVER TIME AND I GUESS IT WASN'T MY IMAGINATION AAAAAAAGGGHHHDFKJGHSKsdkjfhsdfs man that is so creepy
anyway now that i've grossed everyone out HAVE A SONG POST so i can cross this off my "posts i need to make" list
"short skirt, long jacket" - cake - a pretty solid rock/pop song. i'm sure a lot of people have heard it before, haha-- i heard it and liked it a long time ago and was pretty surprised to find it recently!
"living in a box" - living in a box - I THINK OF MGS EVERY SINGLE TIME
"beep it" - cornelius
"volcano" - benji cossa
"she's got me dancing" - tommy sparks - heard it in that new ipod commercial and searched the lyrics. IT IS SO CATCHY
"everybody's gonna be happy" - the kinks - I SAW THIS THEN I DOWNLOADED A KINKS ALBUM AND LISTENED TO THIS SONG FOR LIKE FIVE HOURS
"charmless man" - blur - also downloaded the blur discography recently and went through it all. loved these guys as a kid and i still do. blur's slower songs bore me to tears, but i really really love their more upbeat stuff (though i guess that's how i am about music in general, haha). I KNOW EVERYONE'S HEARD BLUR BUT IT'S MY SONG POST I DO WHAT I WANT
"bank holiday" - blur
"girls & boys" - blur
"song 2" - blur - of course. always been a favorite.
"globe alone" - blur
"swamp song" - blur
"there's no other way" - blur - YESSSSSSS THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND STILL IS and okay i am seriously done whoring out blur now seriously
"raz" - tim and eric - GOD I HAD THIS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR LIKE TWO WEEKS ONCE, NOT EVEN JOKING. also i strongly recommend watching the video
"prisoner christmas" - brad neely - i rewatched all of brad neely's stuff a few days ago and decided to rip some of the songs. the videos are what really make them, of course, so people who haven't done that need to GO DO THAT RIGHT NOW
"jfk" - brad neely
"george washington" - brad neely
"be aggressive" - brad neely
"bring the gold" - brad neely
"fuck the humans" - brad neely
"group therapy" - brad neely
"now we can make love" - brad neely
"move" - c.s.s. - i love the video for this, so bizarre
"abracadabra" - brown-eyed girls - haha, i just think of "brown-eyed girl" whenever i look at the band name. this is a pretty neat song, though, and the music video is about sexy girls killing some guy i dunno. i just know that the lady with the pimp cane is the best character.
"strange kind of woman" - deep purple
"i love the world" - discovery channel - YOU'VE SEEN THE COMMERCIAL, BUT DO YOU HAVE THE .MP3
WELL, NOW YOU DO
"left my heart in the saloon" - erik sumo
"driving lesson" - garbage - get in the CCCCCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR
"androgyny" - garbage
"no you girls" - franz ferdinand - why is his music so catchy
"outsiders" - franz ferdinand
"send him away" - franz ferdinand
"this boy" - franz ferdinand
"matinee" - franz ferdinand
"panchira of joy toy" - group tamashii - so extreme
"colors of days" - jazztronik - man, i listened to this for days before i could finally stop. I DUNNO, IT JUST... MAKES EVERYTHING SEEM COOL
"les limites" - julien dore - i found this while searching for a french song that i still haven't found (dunno the name), and the video was strange enough to make me stay. i'm glad i did, because this is such an awesome song. there's also different versions of the video as well? I DUNNO, I'M CONFUSED. it looks ridiculously fun to parody, though.
"chicks and dicks" - junior senior - WHATCHA GONNA DO DO AFTER DARK
"take my time" - junior senior
"rhythm bandits" - junior senior
"never miss a beat" - kaiser chiefs - i found these guys through
tigerboat's obsessive rambling, and they're really great! i downloaded a few of their albums.
"oh my god" - kaiser chiefs
"learnt my lesson well" - kaiser chiefs - personal favorite.
"blood and guts" - squeeze - and just while i'm pimping things tiger has shown me, have this. we both agree that the random instrumental in the middle is a drag, but the rest of the song is so good.
"tecks mecks" - killer7 - killer7 had a very subtle sort of soundtrack that just blended into the background for the most part and didn't make much of an impression, which always made it really surprising to go into an area that had a more extroverted track. i definitely remember having that feeling when i came into this place, haha. ANYWAY, this is my favorite song from the game.
"fashion freak" - naked ape - uhhhh i've completely forgotten how i found this song, but i do know that the video has zombie ladies washing a car. they're supposed to be sexy, but i really have trouble calling them that since there's no way i can ever think of zombies as sexy, ever. seriously, i watch this video and i just
i feel like i can smell them
I LOVE THIS SONG THOUGH
"undo redo" - naked ape - ZOMBIE STRIPPER. this one is even worse than the last video hrgnrghrhgrh stop showing her mouth
"C.O.M.P.U.T.E.R.U." - naked ape
"don't know why" - norah jones - haha, i'm not a big fan of norah jones' music from what i've heard of it, but i do like this song. it's melancholy, but it has a much more... genuinely sad feeling to it, rather than really pushing HOW DEPRESSED she is and RAVENS and so on. this seems a lot more human.
"d'yer wanna be a spaceman" - oasis - another band from my childhood. i also downloaded their discography, but i haven't gone through it yet, so you guys are safe. FOR NOW.
"propane nightmares" - pendulum - got this off of
zarla and ~fell in love~
"louisville, stall" - pie - i found "pie" through john. they're actually really good from what i've heard, but i can never ever find anything on them. they're just insanely obscure, i guess. i found a fansite that has their songs up for download, though, hohoho
"let's get rich" - pie - hnnnn i love this. i can listen to the middle over and over and never get tired, i dunno what it is about it. just the guitars and the lyrics are really cool.
"alice" - pogo - FROM THAT TRIPPY ALICE IN WONDERLAND THING. i hear "very sell, follow it, it's unlawful to not grovel." i wonder what this reflects on my subconscious or whatever
"get this party started" - pink - hahahaha, who remembers this. i loved this song when i was a kid, and i think it was actually one of the first .mp3s i ever downloaded (or maybe even THE first). i was COMPLETELY SHOCKED when i found out that it was possible to download REAL SONGS, not .midis, and pretty much started typing in every song i could think of into imesh (which wasn't a lot, at the time). THUS STARTED MY LIFE AS A PETTY THIEF. i think my first .mp3 collection pretty much consisted of this song, some video game music, and the beatles.
but yeah, i have fond memories of putting this cheesy song on repeat for hours at a time as a kid, hahaha. good times.
"happy up here" - royksopp
"fascinating new thing" - semisonic - i forgot where i downloaded this, but i had totally heard it before, so i was pretty excited. i forgot where i heard it, though. A DAY IN THE LIFE
"suits are picking up the bill" - squirrel nut zippers - i heard this in a commercial recently, and decided that i don't have nearly enough squirrel nut zippers.
"mean girl" - status quo
"vagabond" - wolfmother
"i wanna be adored" - the stone roses - i actually found these guys while looking at wallets, weirdly. there was a cool wallet that had some guy on it who was apparently from this band, so i looked them up and wound up liking them pretty well.
AND FINALLY, "jump in the line" - harry belafonte. everyone's heard this before, i think.
god, that's a huge pile of links. ENJOY.
oh yeah, i went ahead and traded in saints row for saints row 2! i get the feeling that story doesn't matter for this series, so i'll just go for new gameplay stuff. also picked up scribblenauts, which is a lot of fun. i pretty much just think HMM WHAT'S THE MOST RIDICULOUS WAY I CAN SOLVE THIS for each puzzle, which probably makes it last longer than it ought to, but trying to catch bugs by gluing a net to a pterodactyl is hilarious so who cares
probably my favorite solve so far is when i had to break a pinata for some kid's birthday, so i summoned a harpoon and went at it. I WOUND UP KILLING THE BIRTHDAY BOY WHICH NORMALLY MEANS A FAIL BUT I BROKE THE PINATA AT THE SAME TIME SO I JUST GRABBED THE STARITE AND LEFT
i killed him several times before that, too, one of them being from a wizard i summoned (i... thought he'd see the pinata and use magic to break it i dunno) going berserk and killing everyone at the party for no reason. WORST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER
actually, i should really just start making a list of ridiculous solves and post them all once i'm done, because this game can get weird and i'm a dumbass which is pretty much a recipe for hilarity
on a completely unrelated note, does anyone remember aicha, aicha
and that's gross enough on its own, but
