Now, down to business.

So I've been thinking, and I think I'm going to do an art project. I just feel like I don't do enough and as such I'm kinda... cheating you guys. That was worded weird, but you get the idea. I'm just not satisfied with my productivity, and I think you guys deserve more. Yeah, that's better.

Anyway, here's what I've come up with. I have to draw 100 pictures of anything I want, using any technique I want. I can't skip out on details or backgrounds, and I can't just draw someone standing and smiling like I usually seem to do. I have to vary on poses and perspectives. Sketches and half-assed doodles don't count.

Also, I have to finish them all within three months.

Now, if you're remotely familiar with art and if you know how grueling it is to finish a nicely detailed picture (or heck, even a not-so-detailed one), you know that this is going to be ABSOLUTE HELL, and that I'm a COMPLETE NUTCASE FOR WANTING TO DO THIS. I mean jeez, if you take this as well as trying to keep up with schoolwork, updates, and general real life activities, then that leaves you with very little free time and a truckload of stress. But man, I'm gonna do it. And I'm gonna WIN.

I think this just comes from me looking at artists around my age group who are better than me, and me wanting to be better than them. 'Cause y'know, leave it to me to take something that's supposed to be leisurely and turn it into some sort of competition :B

But yeah, I'm going to start my project on the 1st of July rather than right away. I'm going to use the remainder of this month to brainstorm and get as many other things done as possible. Even if I don't complete this, I'll still have improved and gotten a good experience out of it and such. I'm hoping this'll help me with my procrastination problem, as well.

Oh man, this is an awesome idea. It's like NaNoWriMo but with drawing.

OHOH that just gave me an idea. We should make an LJ community for this challenge and invite people to join, so they could participate as well. Members could even give each other tips, ideas, or words of advice. Hell, I'd totally join this. :D
