I'm not sure if "filled with delicious pudding" really counts as a mood, but

wishwashing's birthday party tomorrow wooooo :V If you guys happen see this before we meet then uh do you want me to bring anything in particular? 'Cause I'm just gonna throw random crap in my bag otherwise, so
I've been playing a lot of Dark Cloud, lately. I actually played the sequel before I played the first one (I rented it when I was younger and wound up liking and buying it), so when I saw the original over in GameStop's bargain bin I thought I ought to check it out. It's pretty fun! I'm only on chapter 2 right now so I don't wanna say too much, but so far it seems... pretty much completely different from the sequel, aside from most of the gameplay. Maybe I'm just not remembering things correctly :B
One thing that's really bugging me about that game is that sometimes, while you're going through the dungeon, the game will randomly be like A MYSTERIOUS FORCE HAS CHOSEN [party member] TO GO THROUGH THIS LEVEL and you can't switch characters or anything. This wouldn't be so bad if the other characters didn't suck so much. I mean, Xiao's slingshot does, like, 5 damage at the most, so just killing ONE enemy will take about twenty hits (I'm not joking), while Toan (main character) can kill it in about two. And THAT wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that there's a limit on how much you can use a weapon until it breaks, so you have to keep using your Weapon Repair Powder or whatever it's called -- which you have to buy, by the way -- to restore its life. And when Xiao's weapon has, what... 40-50 points, and when every tiny little enemy takes about half of those points to kill... you do the math. Not to mention that her slingshot misses half of the time. Goro is strong, at least, but he's just really, really slow, which can hamper you quite a bit. I dunno, maybe my characters just suck. I mean, this guy can apparently kill the 2nd boss in one hit, and I heard somewhere that someone's Xiao was able to kill certain enemies in one hit. I dunno why I'd be so weak, though, since I'm fighting every enemy on every level and getting all the items and using the best weapons I can get and upgrading them and all :< I dunno.
ASIDE FROM THAT, though, I like it a lot. Building the towns is fun, and also makes me go all OCD for some reason. MUST MAKE EVERYTHING PERFECT MUST MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS HAPPY ASFDS and I like dueling a lot. I actually wish there was more dueling, or that they would at least last longer. Most of the time you just push like four buttons before it's like OKAY YOU WON YOU SAVED THE DAY YEAH WOO and it's like what.
