-[livejournal.com profile] saemiligr brought this up: What if the donor isn't pleased with what they receive? I mean, if it's like, I dunno, the volunteer forgot to draw a bracelet on their character or something then that's fine, but I'm talking COMPLETE do-overs. Should that be allowed? It sounds like a lot of pressure to put on the volunteer, but at the same time, I don't want donors to feel ripped off. Maybe they should have to pay half-price for it? Maybe the volunteer can put it on the bottom of their to-do list and have it be the very last thing they work on? Or donors only get x amount of re-dos the whole event?
I dunno. It can't be something people will be able to abuse.

-Uhh, thinking about it, rewarding $10 per item for EVERYTHING seems like too much. Maybe $10 for each (grocery store-sized) bag of clothes, $10 for every five food items/toys, THEN $10 for everything else?

Sorry for posting about this so much. I guess I'm slightly nervous, haha.

I don't really have anything else to say, so here's some dumb links:

[livejournal.com profile] zarla linked to some videos of a goofy Japanese video game reviewer who is terrible at video games, and while all the videos are pretty adorable, I liked the one where he plays a dating sim for girls the most. Thirteen hours, goddamn.

guhhhhhhh boredddd
man, last night i was just sitting on the computer when i suddenly got this MANLY RUSH and spent like four hours grunting and lifting things
i have no idea where that even came from, but at least I have a clean closet, now. haha, the more I clear out all the old stuff I don't want anymore, the more I realize that I... don't have a lot of new stuff at all. Everything is so barren. I just spend all my money on games and books above anything else these days, I guess.
Also, I found my Bob Marley t-shirt! I bought it and then immediately lost it and couldn't find it for months--I thought Sarah stole it or it was buried under dirty laundry or something, but I couldn't find it no matter how much I dug around. Turns out it was in my dresser. Oh, okay.

P.S. DON'T COMBINE HOT CANOLA OIL WITH GARLIC IT'LL EXPLODE AND SMELL REALLY BAD

re: first one: nnnn that's a tough one. I think since it's for charity then it should kind of be like...evaluated...reallly well to constitute for a do-over. Idk :V

Yeah, I'm just not sure! I'm worried about having mods evaluate it since that seems like Internet drama just waiting to happen, but I don't really know how else to do it fairly dfkjghs

i'd say if the doner isn't pleased? it depends.

if they're not pleased because, well...you gimped it, you admit to the fact. you were rushed, you really screwed up - in this case a do-over is okay.

if they're not pleased because you mixed up an eye colour or forgot to draw a necklace or little detail...i'd say this is okay, *IF* the piece is digital. those of us who draw with pen, pencil, marker etc can't be expected to trash a whole piece and redraw just because we forgot someone had a hoop earring.

HOWEVERRRRRRRR

if they don't like it but you really did draw your best, and they honestly seem to just be whining...forget it, no way. you're giving them this as a thank-you for being charitable, not as a commissioner accepting a business contract. it's a bonus for being charitable, it shouldn't have to be the SOLE REASON.

am i making myself clear here i'm kinda on a burnout of overwork

Haha, you're clear, don't worry.

Yeah, I think you're right. I guess what I'll do is lay this down in the guidelines, and then if there's still problems then the mods can judge it. I'm hoping this won't come up very often, though.

I'm thinking the only reason a donor could complain is if something went really wrong i.e. it doesn't look anything like what the donor asked for or anything like what the artist offers in their samples.

I mean, we provide samples for a reason, right? As artists the most we can do is at least hold up to the quality we provide in our samples. I know there's a term for it, but anyway we shouldn't offer less than that. And the commissioner should be well aware of this. If their complaint is that "OH GOD I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE BETTER" but it looks exactly like what they offer in their samples, that's a no-no. (I mean, come on, you get to choose your artist!)

If it's a tiny thing like "oh you missed a thang" and it's digital art, then I think a little edit is fine, but there should be a limit. 3 times' the charm?

For traditional artists, unless it CAN be fixed, then I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah, I'm really hoping this won't be something that comes up a lot since volunteers give samples and the donors are choosing them, but I JUST WANNA BE SUUUURE

I don't think small edits are too bad, though, as long as they're doable. I just don't want people going REDO REDO REDO all over the place dfjhgs
